How To Answer What Did You Like Least About Your Last Job
How To Answer What Did You Like Least About Your Last Job Facebook14TweetLinkedInPinEmail1Shares15 Why does the interviewer want to know about your last job and what you didnt like about it? Its an opportunity for the hiring manager to understand what aspects of work you enjoy. But also how well you will fit into the new role. You have to be careful how you answer this question. Coming across with a strong dislike for your previous role wont work in your favour. Whilst praising the role too highly and stating you disliked nothing, could make the interviewer question, why are you seeking a new position? We have suggested some possible explanations to answering this question. Unchallenged As much as I enjoyed the company I worked, I felt at times the tasks I was delegated didnt allow me to fully utilise my skills and experience. I found some tasks repetitive and although I developed a system to overcome this, I still felt I was not reaching my full potential. If you felt unchallenged in your previous role, you need to explain why. It will lead you on to state why you were attracted to the new role. Underappreciated I worked alongside the marketing manager to implement the companyâs social media strategy. At times, I felt the work and effort I put in was not recognised. I was delegated all the responsibilities of a manager but remained an assistant. Although I enjoyed having more control over campaigns, I now feel it is time to apply for a managerial role as I feel I am fully prepared for the challenge. Lack of opportunities I felt in my previous role there was little room for growth. Having spent three years in the role, I expressed my interest in taking on a new challenge and potentially gaining a role with more responsibility. However, it just was not possible due to the company size. Therefore I decided it was time to move on and seek employment within a company with the potential for growth. This is a very honest answer with a valid rationale that shows your enthusiasm and commitment to the new role. Avoid at all costs! Petty remarks about previous co-workers Calling your previous role boring Storytelling negative events that may have occurred within your last role Explaining how you didnt get on with your manager and were reluctant to complete tasks they delegated to you Remember
